The methods of synthesis and reactions of organosilicon and organogermanium peroxides are surveyed. The emphasis is placed on the studies reported in the last two decades, because in this period, the use of singlet oxygen and the Isayama–Mukaiyama reaction for the synthesis of organosilicon peroxides started. The use of these compounds in the development of antiparasitic agents is considered. The bibliography includes 220 references.

Methods for the synthesis and the electronic and crystal structures of neutral and anionic isotrithionedithiolate transition metal complexes are considered. The unusual electrophysical, magnetic and optical properties of these complexes, including superconducting structures, spin-ladder structures and nonlinear optical materials, are analyzed. The bibliography includes 129 references.

Problems concerning the synthesis of hydrogen-containing nanomaterials based on metals, alloys and intermetallics are considered. Characteristics of hydrogen absorption by and hydrogen desorption from these materials are analyzed. Specific features of the phase diagrams of metal–hydrogen systems in the case of nanostructured components are discussed. Data on the structure and defects, electronic structure and physicochemical properties of nanocrystalline metal hydrides are generalized; poorly studied problems in this field of research are outlined. The bibliography includes 99 references.

Data on the factors affecting the result of laser-induced chemical liquid phase deposition of metals, first of all copper, are generalized and described systematically. The attention is focused on the chemical reactions in solution and activation of dielectric surfaces. The mechanisms of chemical and laser-induced deposition of local copper structures from solution onto dielectric surface are considered. The effect of the solution components on the result of deposition is discussed. The bibliography includes 92 references.

Data on biocatalytic methods for the preparation of chiral organophosphorus compounds are generalized and described systematically. Various examples of enzymatic and microbiological synthesis of hydroxyphosphonates, aminophosphonates, phosphinites, phosphine oxides and tertiary phosphines are discussed. The bibliography includes 154 references.
