Help: Accessibility
Using the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines (WAI), we are pleased to have made our award-winning Electronic Journals service even more accessible for users with sensory disabilities.
Several changes have been incorporated into the interface, making our user-friendly Web site even easier to navigate.
Significant areas of improvement include:
- Providing a text equivalent for every non-text element
- Avoiding causing content to blink
- Using text for link text rather than a graphic and/or providing the same link in text format somewhere on the same page
- Ensuring that foreground and background colour combinations provide sufficient contrast
- Using relative rather than absolute units when defining font sizes
- Using header elements to convey document structure
We hope that these important amendments to our Electronic Journals service will provide a more accessible interface for all our users.
