Help: Personal Journals List
By default, the EJ home page will always display the
complete list of current journals. However, people work in different ways and
have their own specific areas of interest. You may find that there are some
journals which you refer to more often than others, and would like to be able
to access quickly and easily.
To help you get to the information you want as easily as possible, you can
create your own Personal Journals List. This contains exactly the same sections
and options as the standard EJ home page. The difference is
that you decide which journals are listed.
The Personal Journals List option is available when logged in. It is one of a
number of powerful personalization features that are freely available to
individual users.
To create and amend your Personal Journals List, select the Personal Journals List
option from the User Options page. The page
contains a form which you complete as required. Each section is described
below.
Available Journals
This section lists the journals to which your institution subscribes. To add a
particular journal to your Personal Journals List, click the checkbox next to the
list entry. Only the selected journals will be listed on your personal Journals Listi,
unselected titles will not be displayed. You may select all journals.
You may add non-subscribed journals to your Personal Journals List; that is,
journals to which your institution does not currently subscribe. However, you
will only have access to the table of contents and abstracts of those journals.
Once you have defined your settings, you can save them by pressing the Save
Settings button at the foot of the page. To update any of your settings at
a later date, return to this page to make the desired changes and save them
again.
