Help: Filing Cabinet
Available only from Login mode, the Filing Cabinet is designed to help
you with your research. The Filing Cabinet lets you keep an online list of
papers of interest to you so that you can easily return to them and even add
your own personal notes. Instead of writing a reference down on paper, or
having to browse through the journal issue to rediscover an article, you can
simply add the article to your Filing Cabinet.
You could use the Filing Cabinet to build up a list of references for any
paper you may be writing. Alternatively, you could use it to store articles
which you want to return to at a later date. However you may want to use it,
the Filing Cabinet is another tool to help you get the best from the
Electronic Journals service.
Adding an article
Whenever you find an article which is of particular interest to you, you can
add it to your personal Filing Cabinet by selecting the Add option on
the article's abstract page.
Personal Notes
These are comments and annotations that you can attach to an article when you
add it to your cabinet. Personal notes will appear on an abstract page if the
article is listed in your cabinet. The notes can be amended or updated at any
time by selecting the Amend option from the abstract page.
Removing an article
If you wish to remove an article from your cabinet, select the Delete
option from the article's abstract page.
The Filing Cabinet and HyperCite®
IOP Publishing's HyperCite
TM technology enables you to follow links to references cited in an
article, or papers that have cited the article you are looking at. To help you
trace where a filing cabinet article came from, an additional tag line is
displayed at the top of its abstract page. This indicates which article's
references or citing articles you were browsing when the article was stored in
your filing cabinet. A link to the originating article's abstract page is also
provided.
